Doylestown, PA (June 28, 2012) – Foundations Community Partnership’s Board of Directors has approved $125,000 in grants, including $20,000 in Capital Grants and $105,000 in Bucks Innovation and Improvement Grants (BIIG) to help 12 Bucks County human service non-profits and the families they serve. These grants support the behavioral health and human service needs of children and young adults in Bucks County.

Foundations Community Partnership awarded BIIG grants to the following organizations:

Aark Wildlife Rehabilitation and Education Center in Chalfont, PA, was awarded $7,500 for the Aark Summer Camp, which includes a focus on special needs children, teaching them compassion for animals and to reduce aggression.

Lower Bucks YMCA in Fairless Hills, PA, received $15,000 for their Homeless Kids to Camp program, which provides transportation and tuition for children from the Family Services Association shelter in Lower Bucks County.

NOVA (Network of Victim’s Assistance) in Jamison, PA, was awarded $10,000 for their Counseling for Child Abuse project, which provides counseling to victims of abuse in Bucks County.

Bethanna in Southampton, PA, received $10,000 for their Autism Services Program, which assesses young children with suspected autism.

Central Bucks Family YMCA in Doylestown’s “Stars After 2” program will use their $10,000 grant to add increased collaboration with agencies in Bucks Co. focusing on autism spectrum disorders.

Central Bucks High School West in Doylestown, PA, was awarded a $10,000 grant to support their Mindfulness Program, which teaches adults to help special needs and other students to reduce stress.

Lighthouse Network in Doylestown, PA, received a $10,000 grant for their Rewind Life program, which provides online education on decision-making for adjudicated youth.

Bucks County YWCA in Trevose, PA, will use the $10,000 grant for their “Kids Helping Kids End Bullying” program, which helps reduce violence and bullying by teaching students to recognize, report, and take a stand against bullying.

Community Conservatory in Doylestown, PA, received a $12,500 grant for their Neighborhood Notes and Brush Strokes program for disadvantaged children in Lower Bucks County and clients from the Bucks County Youth Detention Center.

Bucks County Intermediate Unit in Doylestown, PA, will use the $10,000 grant for their Access to Learning program, which offers learning technology for special needs students by making print material available using a multi-sensory approach.

Foundations Community Partnership awarded Capital Grants to these two non-profit organizations:

Cradles to Crayons was awarded $10,000 to renovate their warehouse in West Conshohocken. In Bucks County and throughout the region, Cradles to Crayons strives to provide children up to age 12 living in homeless and low-income situations with the essentials they need to feel safe, warm, ready to learn, and valued.

Neighborhood First was awarded $10,000 to install a new work shed for the Leadership, Entrepreneurial, and Artistic Development program in Bristol to be used by 35 at-risk youth in Bucks County.

Foundations Community Partnership is a philanthropic grant-making foundation supporting the behavioral health and human service needs of children and young adults in Bucks County. Foundations Community Partnership provides grants and technical assistance to non-profit organizations, awards scholarships to Bucks County high school seniors, subsidizes service learning internships for college students, underwrites community education programs and supports behavioral health education and research.
