Ron Bernstein Awarded Lifetime Achievement Award from Central Bucks Chamber
Doylestown, PA (May 21, 2019) – Foundations Community Partnership is pleased to announce that its Executive Director, Ron Bernstein, has been awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award in the humanitarian category from the Central Bucks Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber presents biannual Lifetime Achievement Awards to businesses, organizations and individuals that have made an impact on the quality of life in Bucks County.
The prestigious Humanitarian Award was presented to Bernstein for his concerted efforts to improve the lives of underserved youth and their families in Bucks County through the establishment of grant programs, a summer youth corps for college students, high school scholarships, workshops for non-profit leaders and professionals, and other social innovations. Not only do his humanitarian efforts support Bucks County’s disadvantaged residents, but they also help effect positive change in the community.
As Executive Director of Foundations Community Partnership, Bernstein created numerous grant programs for Bucks County nonprofits working with the neediest Bucks County residents – providing transportation to the homeless in Bucks County, increasing access to vision services for the blind and visually impaired, offering training to young adults and adults with autism, and serving adolescents and young adults recovering from substance abuse are just a few examples. He also instituted technical assistance grants and grant-writing workshops for Bucks County non-profits to strengthen their organizations and guide them through the grant application process. Ultimately, Bernstein has been the driving force behind nearly $5 million in grants and scholarships that have been distributed within Bucks County since 2007.
Bernstein has also been recognized for his humanitarian work by Social Innovations Journal. He was the recipient of a Good-Doers Award from Calkins Media, and was awarded a Four-Way Test Award by the Doylestown Rotary. During his 40-year human service career, Bernstein has been committed to improving the lives of vulnerable people in the community, especially through his pioneering work with Foundations Community Partnership, which is devoted to improving the quality of life among Bucks County youth and their families.
“The Foundations Community Partnership Board of Directors congratulates Ron on his strong commitment and service to the community and for his humanitarian achievements in Bucks County,” says Karen Lasorda, Chair of Foundations Community Partnership’s Board of Directors.
