Wednesday, December 5th, FCP will welcome two esteemed presenters for a full-day of Professional Education Workshops.

In the morning, from 8:30 AM to 12 Noon, Julia Parish-Morris, Ph.D., will present “Girls with Autism: Social Perception, Language, and Camouflaging.”

Girls are four times less likely to be diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) than boys, but the reason for this sex disparity is unclear. Researchers have begun to measure how girls and boys with ASD are similar, and how they are different. In this enlightening workshop, Dr. Parish-Morris will address recent studies of social perception, language and camouflaging in girls with ASD and discuss implications for diagnosis and treatment planning.

Following Dr. Parish-Morris, we will welcome Allan Tepper, J.D., Psy.D., for the sold-out “Ethics Boundaries Potpourri: Records, Minors, Email, Cell Phones, Texting, and Telehealth.”

This valuable workshop will explore ethical and boundary considerations for mental health professionals that are associated with records, minors, emails, cell phones, texting and telehealth. Applicable Pennsylvania rules will be emphasized, as well as the manner by which these issues arise in everyday practice. The discussion will focus upon integrating these principles as part of good clinical practice, rather than merely viewing these considerations from a risk management perspective.
