#FCPresents Series Brings TED Talk Icon Dan Pallotta to Bucks County
Doylestown, PA (February 3, 2025) – Foundations Community Partnership (FCP) welcomes Dan Pallotta, a pioneer in the global effort to transform the way our culture evaluates the character and impact of nonprofits, to Bucks County on March 19 from 2 to 6 p.m. at Bucks County Community College’s Zlock Performing Arts Center in Newtown, Pa. The afternoon starts with an exclusive screening of his movie “UnCharitable,” followed by a virtual, fireside chat with Pallotta where he talks about his conviction that unleashed charities can play the leading role in creating an unimaginably beautiful world that works for everyone.
“Dan is one of the leading voices in philanthropy, transforming the way we think about charity and giving, and we are thrilled to bring a thought leader like him to Bucks County to share his passionate views and unique experiences,” said Dr. Tobi Bruhn, FCP’s CEO. “This is an excellent and affordable professional development opportunity for social impact leaders and their teams, board members, and everybody who seeks inspiration during challenging times in the non-profit sector.”
“UnCharitable” follows the stories of three record-breaking entrepreneurial charitable initiatives that were publicly attacked, ultimately devastating the very people the initiatives were helping. Directed by Stephen Gyllenhaal, the movie re-shuffles our notions about saints and sinners, heroes and heretics, good and greed, and offers a radical but simple idea: give nonprofits the same economic freedom we give to business and charities can lead the way to changing the world. The movie trailer can be viewed at www.fcpartnership.org/workshops/fcpresents.
Pallotta invented the multi-day charitable event industry, creating the Breast Cancer 3-Day walks and the multi-day AIDS Rides. His iconic TED Talk on philanthropy has been viewed more than 5.6 million times, and he is one of the 100 most viewed TED speakers of all time. In fact, the TED community voted it the most persuasive TED talk of all time, and it continues to be viewed nearly 1,000 times a day by people all over the world. Pallotta has written over 100 articles for the Harvard Business Review online and given over 400 talks on philanthropy and innovation in 38 states and 10 countries, making him one of today’s leading voices in philanthropy. This exclusive movie screening and Pallotta’s virtual chat with the region’s non-profit community is sponsored by Comcast (Presenting Sponsor). It is part of #FCPresents, a series launched by FCP in 2022 to strengthen the sector by inviting thought leaders to share their expertise. Tickets to the event are $25 per person and the first 100 registrants receive a copy of Pallotta’s best-selling book, “Uncharitable.” For more information and to register, visit www.fcpartnership.org/workshops/fcpresents.
