Depression is common in teens, with serious consequences for well-being, health, and future development. Suicide is the second leading cause of death in young people. Clinicians working with youth must be prepared to identify signs of and effectively manage depression and suicide risk. The program will shed light on the scope of the problem of youth depression and suicide, describe etiological theories of each, as well as present evidence-based methods of identifying, assessing, and managing them.
