Anxiety and school refusal are common problems in children and adolescents, and a particular concern due to the potential short- and long-term impact on academic, social, emotional, and family functioning. Furthermore, the longer a child misses school or avoids other important areas of his/her life, the more likely these problems are to develop. This insightful workshop will discuss the identification and evaluation of the most common anxiety disorders in youth, the most common reasons for school refusal behavior, and the most effective treatments for targeting these issues.
